Laila McQueen Instagram – Another year goes by and it’s time to welcome in another group of incredible drag kids to our We’re Here family!
I am still beyond grateful and proud to have reached this milestone in my life of receiving an Emmy for the work I’ve done on a show, that I have now been apart of for multiple seasons. I just wanted to post a lil something saying what I wish I could have fully expressed at the Emmy’s, and the premier of a new season feels like the right time to do so.
This show as a whole, is wild and unlike any other and I am so thankful to be apart of it, for the friends and crew that respect the work I do and of course for the friendship I have with @bobthedragqueen. For bringing me into this opportunity with her, constantly encouraging and trusting me and my work while also making the time we spend together on set, not feel like “work”.
But truly, I really want to put another spotlight on, to shout out and thank all the drag children that participate on this show. For being vulnerable and strong enough to share your stories on such a platform no matter the repercussions after filming and airing. For being brave enough to put yourselves on display in showing that representation truly matters. For allowing us into your lives to do all the wild things that drag entails and being so down for the experience. I cannot always fully put into words how I feel but I’m grateful to have worked with so many drag kids personally that have been so kind and generous with their experience and time. the show wouldn’t be what it is without your authentic voices being shown and heard. I’m going to say it again, and not stop there- representation matters!!!!!
Thank you for telling your stories and continuing to do so, while letting us put you up in some of the craziest drag!
