Rachel Hurd-Wood Instagram – Had a wonderful few days in London recording an audiobook. It’s been a while since I’ve worked anywhere but from home, and while that has its advantages, actually going to a nice building and being around professionals was such a treat!

Even the sweaty morning tube commute felt like a luxury (especially after two nights of caring for a toddler with a stomach bug 😅)

There’s such pressure (externally and internally) for mothers to live up to some ‘perfect’ ideal – whether that pertains to career, looks, parenting, anything. If you’ve been following me a while, you’ll know I’m keen to steer clear of perfectionism, and focus on doing what’s best for me and my family, whatever that looks like. While I’ve loved having so much time at home with my little ones (mostly), I’m starting to feel ready for the next chapter, the one beyond 24/7 motherhood.

Rachel Hurd-Wood Instagram – Didn’t break a sweat on this morning’s run because it’s sooo cold! ❄️ Frozen ears and fingers!

I’m not very good at running – not particularly fast, no amazing stamina. But I do it because it makes me feel better. I’ve never gone for a run and felt worse after…

…but I know it’s not for everyone. As a Pilates teacher, I always recommend people find a form of movement they enjoy, and do that. Forget what you think you ‘should’ do.
