So many of these men and women come from all over. Pro athletes; business owners; dreamed of being a firefighter their entire lives. Their stories are amazing. These past 15 weeks have been transformative, grueling, exciting, and not going to lie…stressful. But it’s all been worth it and seeing these men go from just applying to be a firefighter—from getting your prerequisite EMT license (going to school for this and passing), taking the test to even possibly get an interview with a department, that email saying you have your first interview. Second interview. Third interview. Do any of you know what these interviews mean? They are the epitome of who they let in. Then waiting to see if you’ve been accepted into the academy.
