Sydney Ozerov-Meyer Instagram – Yesterday I went and got my first ever preventative MRI scan with @prenuvo. As most of you know I am chronically ill. It took me almost 4 years to get my current diagnosis and in the years since then any symptom that arises is put in that box. I have never felt in control of my health care. I think a lot of people experience this. Studies show that women are diagnosed 4 years later on average than their male counterparts for the same conditions and this number is higher for women of colour and members of the LGBTQIA community. Early detection is so crucial for management and treatment of any condition. This scan can diagnose over 500 conditions and 95% of the time that they catch a cancer diagnosis it is in stage 1 which is a life saving diagnosis. I also was lucky enough to run into the CEO and speak with him. His passion for giving people the power of knowledge within the healthcare system is so beautiful. Please please take preventative screenings seriously. You know your body and you have every right to feel in control of your health!! MRIs don’t have any radiation so they are a great option.
