James Van Der Beek Instagram – Here’s the only investment advice from me you should ever consider: Go big on experiences. Sometimes they’re tough to justify to us “responsible” people, because the payoff doesn’t show up on a balance sheet. The benefits are for your heart, your memories, and your soul – and they’re priceless.
Times are tough, we’re all trying to figure out how to make work… but as I look back, the more time, energy, and focus I’ve put into adventures – especially these one-on-one trips – the happier I’ve been.
And don’t think you need to be an expert – the most fun have been the ones where we’ve tried something new, outside the boundaries of what I know: A new restaurant, new city, a spot someone told me about. After all, who better than you to model for your kids how to explore, think on your feet and keep discovering?
And yes… I’ve been blessed with access and means to do some pretty unique things, but the trip my son talked about most before this one was a free hike on a public trail I’d read about that took us an hour to drive to and where I ended up carrying him for half of it (last pic).
