On Wednesday I will be sworn in as governor on Frederick Douglass’ Bible and my grandfather’s Bible. Douglass was a proud Marylander and as your next governor, I will work every day to carry on his legacy of fighting for justice and equality. My grandfather, Rev. James Thomas, was my hero. He was the first Black minister in the history of the Dutch Reformed Church. He taught me to have faith, not fear. As I am sworn in on his Bible I am committed to leading with the same bold vision he had. Read @washingtonpost’s full article via the link in my bio.

This is the joy we are bringing with us to Annapolis on Wednesday. Maryland, together, we are ready to lead.
Blessed to have @yolandaadams with us in Maryland tonight for our Evening of Faith and Community!
We can’t wait to celebrate with you at the People’s Inaugural Ball! Our next First Lady @dawnflythemoore made a great video explaining our “celebratory chic” dress code. For the guys and anyone still curious what “celebratory chic” might look like, this one’s for you.
I could not ask for a better partner in life or in this work than @dawnflythemoore: my remarkable wife, the next First Lady of the state of Maryland, and mother to our children and soon… a puppy!
We’re excited to announce that the People’s Inaugural Ball will feature @maxwell, @druhill4real, and @raheem_devaughn! Can’t wait to celebrate with y’all on Wednesday! And a huge thank you to our future First Lady for making this night one Maryland won’t forget.

In 4 days, @arunamiller’s mom and my mom – immigrants from India and Jamaica who came to this country for a better life – will watch their children sworn in as the next Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Maryland. Their story is an American story.
@arunamiller will be the most consequential lieutenant governor in the country. I cannot wait for Maryland to benefit from her leadership, which is rooted not only in professional expertise, but in her compassion and lived experience as an immigrant.
While in Annapolis for opening day of session, I was reunited with my chaplain from Afghanistan, Col. Kevin Weston (ret.). I am so incredibly grateful for all of the friends, mentors, and leaders who have helped me get to this moment. #Airborne!
Addressing the Maryland House Judiciary Committee. Thank you for your leadership in ensuring that justice extends to every person in Maryland. I’m excited to be your partner in this work.
The 445th legislative session is now underway! I am excited to work in partnership with @speakeradriennejones, @senbillferg, and our entire general assembly to meet this moment and move Maryland forward with the leadership and urgency families deserve.
We’re getting ready for Day One of the Moore-Miller Administration on Jan. 18! The incoming appointments team is now accepting applications for Maryland’s boards and commissions. Apply or recommend others for consideration by Friday, January 27, 5 pm. Apply to join a board or commission via the link in my bio.
Good morning, Annapolis! Starting off opening day of session at @mddailyrecord’s Eye on Annapolis Summit with @bpsears to discuss our leave no one behind agenda.
