Wes Moore Instagram – On Wednesday I will be sworn in as governor on Frederick Douglass’ Bible and my grandfather’s Bible.
Douglass was a proud Marylander and as your next governor, I will work every day to carry on his legacy of fighting for justice and equality.
My grandfather, Rev. James Thomas, was my hero. He was the first Black minister in the history of the Dutch Reformed Church. He taught me to have faith, not fear.
As I am sworn in on his Bible I am committed to leading with the same bold vision he had.
