I am so lucky my children came home from school yesterday. Their trauma was merely hearing the news in school over a loudspeaker that an 18 year old kids used an AR-15 to mow down children their age in Texas. They weren’t allowed to leave the school building on a beautiful day. They were terrified that they were going to be next. Then, my 9 year old said, “yeah, but this happens all the time now.” … I couldn’t tell him, “the grown ups are going to make you safe. Laws need to be made for gun safety like they were made for seat belts.” I couldn’t say that. Why can’t we do something? Why is this scary to even talk about??? What the actual f*** is happening in Washinton? We must do something about this, friends. This is insanity.
