Barack Obama Instagram – On what would have been the 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we’re reminded that progress can move backward. And that means we’ve got to recommit to doing our part to protect and expand reproductive rights for families today — and for generations to come. People of goodwill can disagree on this issue, but I firmly believe that women everywhere should be able to control what happens with their own bodies. It shouldn’t be controversial to say that the most personal healthcare choices should be made by a woman and her doctor and not a bunch of mostly male politicians. So today, I hope that you’ll join with the activists who’ve been sounding the alarm on this issue for years — and act. Stand with them at a local protest. Volunteer with them on a campaign. Donate to their cause. And vote alongside them in every election for candidates who will support reproductive rights for generations to come.
