Arshia Emamgholizadeh Alamdari was just 16-years-old when he was detained in Iran for engaging in peaceful, anti-state protests, and died by suicide less than a week after being released.
“They gave us pills at night and tortured us by beating the bottom of our feet,” Arshia said to his friends after being released, according to IranWire.
Arshia’s case is among several cases we at the Center for Human Rights in Iran have reported on this week, about protesters dying by alleged suicide shortly after their release from prison.
What happened to these young people in those prisons? Why were they sent there in the first place?
