Christy Altomare Instagram – My concert at the playhouse was a dream. It was a packed house of everyone that I love. @charliealterman killed it jumping in last minute. I have to admit putting together a show of mostly new material is a bit scary but I had such a blast. I had a lot of new stories I got to share. Also!! Some of my favorite middle school teachers came to my show – it was such a surprise. Mr. McScherry who I had twice in school. He was one of those teachers that taught with humor and love. He made going to school fun every day. I also couldn’t believe Mr. Micir came. When I was in middle school I gave him my CD of music I wrote as a kid and in the same moment he surprised me with a wrapped CD… It was Joni Mitchell Blue… he said I needed to listen to her… he was right … it quickly became my favorite CD – I memorized every word and I sang river for my spring awakening audition and carrie audition that helped get me those roles. These teachers touched my heart. It was so beautiful seeing them again after the show- thank you to everyone who came ! All of my supporters who drove HOURS ! All of my family and all of my hometown friends. What a magical evening I will never forget … now back to my regularly scheduled traveling away from home and performing – love you all!!
