In January 1998 when we sold pi @sundanceorg we negotiated to have the rights revert to the filmmakers 25 years later. i just heard the sad news that my 7th grade english teacher Vera Fried passed today. she inspired me and so many of my fellow Twainers in so many ways. she was so unique. she wore all pink and drove a pink convertible mustang. she inspired me when i was 13 to write a poem about noah and peace. it ended up winning a contest and that sent me down the path of becoming a story teller. when i finally made the film i tracked her down (she didn’t remember me but was glad to hear from me) and we reconnected. i ended up casting her as a one eyed witch who got to scream @russellcrowe she will be missed by many of her students. sending wishes of love and peace to her family. @marktwainmiddleschool
