I met @davidgeffen one month after I turned 19 years old. It was November 7 1991 in NYC..
I had plans that night to hang with Madonna. I mentioned to her that I admired David , so when I arrived at her apartment, she surprised me by having David open the door.
I was already very excited to hang with the Queen only to find The King standing at the door , greeting me. That moment marked the beginning of a lifelong friendship.
David’s lessons and wisdom have been invaluable to me since then and continue to inspire me every day. I am grateful for his guidance.
David’s support has been a constant source of motivation for me.
On almost every birthday of mine for the last 30 years, I have lunch with David.
A time to reflect on the good, the bad, and the needed next steps. David is the best person to talk to about these things, and I always leave feeling motivated and most of all wanting to one day make David proud.
His generosity extends beyond our friendship. He is a mentor to countless others, giving support and advice to many many people. Theres a high likelihood that as you read this post, David is sitting across the table from someone right now giving them advice.
His selflessness and willingness to guide and nurture others is truly remarkable.
