7 months ago I started running. Today was the culmination of 140 runs. Runs in the heat, runs in the rain (my fave), runs in the hail (for real), runs in the dark, runs at 5am, runs that were amazing, runs that were a struggle, speed runs, long runs, recovery runs. Along the way I became a runner, I total convert to the running cause, I have completely drunk the kool-aid and I’ll never stop. If you told my teenage self (who would never have voluntarily run anywhere even if being chased by a dingo) this, I would have laughed in your face. But here we are! It wasn’t the run that I wanted. It wasn’t even close to my best run. I was completely destroyed and I wasn’t sure I could finish – but I did! And that’s how life goes right? It’s sometimes amazing, sometimes disappointing, sometimes hard and goddammit that’s why running is great because it makes you a better person. It forces you to get comfortable being uncomfortable. My running partner for life @ebruneau11 you are amazing!!
