Emma Ishta Instagram – 7 months ago I started running. Today was the culmination of 140 runs. Runs in the heat, runs in the rain (my fave), runs in the hail (for real), runs in the dark, runs at 5am, runs that were amazing, runs that were a struggle, speed runs, long runs, recovery runs. Along the way I became a runner, I total convert to the running cause, I have completely drunk the kool-aid and Iāll never stop. If you told my teenage self (who would never have voluntarily run anywhere even if being chased by a dingo) this, I would have laughed in your face. But here we are!
It wasnāt the run that I wanted. It wasnāt even close to my best run. I was completely destroyed and I wasnāt sure I could finish – but I did! And thatās how life goes right? Itās sometimes amazing, sometimes disappointing, sometimes hard and goddammit thatās why running is great because it makes you a better person. It forces you to get comfortable being uncomfortable.
