It’s the biggest labor action in over a decade because people are sick of wages that don’t cover the cost of living and working conditions that are unsafe. Strikes are powerful. But over time, there have been fewer strikes in the US – workers now have fewer rights and shareholders have more power. Last month, over 7,000 nurses went on strike in New York and after three days, they were able to secure more jobs and higher wages. Strikes work.
