Richa Chadha Instagram – This is little 90 sec film is an experiment, based on this amazing book called ‘Bad Feminist’ by Roxanne Gay. (Read it if you haven’t) . It resonated with me so deeply, I needed to create something around it. How often have we cancelled each other for not being perfect feminists in the battle of woke Olympics? How many times are women to fail at the altar of feminism? Without a proper understanding of intersectionality, feminism , particularly in our country is incomplete. Rejection of the Feminine is also rejection, abuse, violation of Mother Nature, Mother Earth, Lady Justice, Lady Liberty ! I dedicate this video to the strong women of Iran and Afghanistan , who continue to pay for freedom with their blood! I dedicate this video to every woman in India who’s fought against tyranny even when the system has let her down! For women everywhere. Women, know your power, no man can exist without you! The world is out of balance. Do not be limited by the limited imaginations of other myopic fools…here’s hoping we understand our God given strength and support and empower each other in the truest way! This is my dream 🫀 The Press asks me… Isn’t it a good time to be a woman? You tell me. Look around you. What do you see ? How does it make you feel ? Hold on to it, this rage you feel. It is this energy that destroys Mahishasur! I was also inspired by this Chilean protest song , based on the work of Rita Segato To break free from homogeneity I made this video, (also to quench my thirst for doing something creative with the boon of royalty free music) The algo won’t push it out … and there’s a weird kind of pressure to post (I don’t always take load) l this is an artistic/academic exploration. . . Richa Chadha Instagram – In other news… #Friday is for #FreshInk… was in Berlin last week for the Berlinale but we’ll talk about work later. Always wanted a small Kite (yes पतंग, वही संक्रांति और पंद्रह अगस्त वाली)… the Kite reminds me of my childhood, where we stayed in a 3 storey house in an older part of the city, in a large joint family… it was the kind of mohalla where kids (and sometimes thieves) could hop from terrace to adjoining terrace to play, (or steal LOL). Got this tattoo from Johnny at Cleopatra Ink… isn’t he amazing ?
