I wish I could do more than a simple post. I wish I could’ve taken the bullets for those kids, for those parents and families that are hurting. I don’t consider myself an overly political person but I am a father.. this is avoidable.. it’s mind blowing.. let’s not overcomplicate what probably should be a simple issue. Enough.

This incredible moment was unplanned I promise… I wrote this song years ago for Brycie.. she’s been my girl for a long time and all I ever want is just to be close to her and in the world we are building together around the holidays.. So I thought it would be cool to start on image of me and the boys in @anthemlightsband old album cover and find her and that world.. and then out of nowhere and perfectly timed, my little man walks up to @bryciemarie and says this, “mommy, he’s singing about you” — man.. I don’t know what made him think of that.. I didn’t even know he knew that.. maybe I told him along the way somewhere or maybe his little romantic heart just got it right.. either way.. what a moment I’m a lucky man. This is all Christmas ever needs to be and all I ever hope it is. You’re right nashy boy… I was singing about her.. and about you now too.

I love him. He wanted to match my shoes so mom got him a pair like mine. It’s not lost on me that for now it’s shoes but as he grows he will follow in my footsteps whether those are steps I want him to take or not.. I am challenged and honored by this reality. Love you Myers man
