Flea Instagram – This sculpture by Lauren Halsey @summaeverythang is a monumental achievement. It currently lives atop The MET in New York City. I was overwhelmed and bought to tears by the sheer power of it, of everything that bought it to life. If you wanna really feel the spirit, feel something bigger than all of us, get up to the roof of the MET and trip out. That Lauren, from South Los Angeles, could capture the deep essence of her neighborhood, her family, the PFUNK mythology all in her work and that it could travel (metaphorically and logistically) this far, is mind blowing and heart filling. YES.
