Ash Wednesday…the beginning of a time of reflection and repentance- a rebirth? Here is our beginning of 2023-Ghana West Africa ❤️🇬🇭 1 of the most special events of the #AJAKUAREBIRTHRETREAT. #AssinManso is the home of the river where enslaved Africans took their last bath before being marched into the slave dungeons. After receiving permission from the King of that region, a blessing in itself-we journeyed to connect with and salute our ancestors- walking the same exact earth to the river- barefoot- at night -just as they did. Ooooweeee!!🙏🏾😢We bathed in their energy- in their memory- claiming our better steps forward with feet washed of anything in our past that no longer serves us. Eyes washed of doubt-claiming clearer vision of our dreams -our ears washed for sharper hearing of Gods guidance with less noise. Until you come to Ghana with me and @thebridgetobetter I had to share this moment of reboot…resilience…rebuild- remember- re align…rebirth.❤️AJAKUA

Nadia is from the Northern region of Ghana which I am learning is rich in different culture traditions from Accra. The Kinte Nadia wears is a different heavier fabric and weave pattern. Notice there are no “flower girls” these girls are clearing the energy for the bride as she enters her new life. Normally- they stay with the bride for days to help her acclimate to her new life as a wife. “The caller” announces something important to the village from a rooftop and all rooftop callers hear this call and spread the message- a main communication tradition in Nadia’s village.

It’s taken a few days to do this.. because I’m having a hard time with the reality that my friend my business mentor is gone. He called me A. I called him C. That was us. Clay was the king of elevation… always taking something or someone from 0-1000!!!
We know tomorrow is not promised.. but some souls seem like they are soooo full they have more to give us… tomorrow… and the next day…but God’s plan may be different.😔
If you did not know Clay personally, you know his mind- his soul – his business ethic because he poured so generously into so many of us and we valued each word- each lesson- and shared it as our own🥰🙏🏾.
I had to share his calm kinda shy and humble but straight to the point energy that he gave me on this amazing episode of #LIFETHERAPY with @darealjayski This is one of the many great and easy but filled with wisdom conversations that was Clay.

Rarely done on US soil, I’m sooo honored to be included in this historic moment and celebration.
