Beyond the tragic loss of life, hundreds of thousands have been left homeless and with immediate needs – after widespread damage to residential buildings and infrastructure across an area of around 350,000 km². With rescue operations having concluded, efforts have since turned to supporting the survivors with shelter, food, medical assistance and community rebuilding. Running from 16 March – 30 March, the latest edition of @picturesforpurposeorg supports Ahbap, the most active grassroots voluntary aid @ahbap in Turkey, and @the_whitehelmets, a humanitarian volunteer organisation operating in Syria.
