Lauren Pritchard-Cobb Instagram – 140,000 Tennesseans woke up without a representative this morning. Republican TN legislative folks care more about having control of the state than they do about protecting their own citizens. 😵‍💫 I’m not talking about *taking all your guns* but I would just love if we could please at least agree that not requiring people to have permits to carry a gun is nothing but problematic and that the red flag system doesn’t work effectively. Can we just start there and then figure out how to create a new world where teachers and students can confidently go into their schools without living in fear every day?! And don’t @ me with any 2nd amendment violation nonsense. Part of my husbands livelihood includes gun training and safety so we understand better than anyone that guns are’t always the enemy but I have to believe that even our founding fathers would see how problematic things have become now that we’re not just toting around muskets like they were when these archaic laws were written. So let the 2nd amendment live but we all know there is not enough being done to prevent these tragedies. How am I meant to be willing to send my son to school in 3 years with shit legislation like this that does absolutely nothing to protect him.
