Michelle Clunie Instagram – Happy Memorial Day! My Great Uncle Russell died fighting the Nazis as they made their last ditch offensive against allied forces at the Battle of the Bulge. It was the most important battle of WW2. After Germany’s defeat they would retreat for the remainder of the war. This was also the bloodiest battle of WW2. I told Dashiell Grandma’s uncle gave his life for his country, democracy, freedom and so other’s may live free. I also told him Russell is buried in Normandy at the American cemetery and now Dashiell wants to go find his grave and place flowers and a note on it this summer. Knowing Dashiell that is what we will do. Thank you for paying the ultimate price Russell. We salute your American grit and love of your fellow man and will always carry forth the fight for democracy and for ourselves and other’s to live free.
