Yumi Stynes Instagram – WHICH ONES DO YOU HAVE? The latest book in the ‘Welcome to’ series is ‘Welcome to Sex’ – out May 17 🔥📚👏🏽 I’ve been reflecting on why there’s a need for this book. Did you see @jessicahelenhill and @tosca_looby17’s show on SBS ‘ASKING FOR IT’? It started a lot of conversations about consent and sex. It spelled out the need for clear-eyed, unflinching sex education. Particularly for young people. And while school sex ed continues to be timid and fear-based, hamstrung by religion and politics, PORN is taking ideas around sex and galloping our kids into new and dangerous territory. And let’s be honest: we’re not in control of that horse. What’s the antidote? The antidote to the shitty messages that kids get from porn is SEX EDUCATION. Porn can NOT be the only depictions and explanations of sex that our kids receive! No! If schools can’t provide it, we parents can. And if we, as parents, don’t know the answers to all our kids’ questions and worries? Or if we’re worried we’ll get it wrong or say something embarrassing?
