Sex education does NOT cause kids to engage in sex earlier – in fact the opposite. Studies show that comprehensive sex ed results in later first time sexual experiences. 2. Consent education and sex education is absolutely crucial in setting our kids up for safer futures and counteracting the toxic messaging of porn. 3. Kids being exposed to porn is commonplace and can start as young as 10. Half of all boys in Australia aged 14 have viewed explicit porn. None of us agreed that this was okay, but this is what’s happening. Shame around sex / talking about sex is something a lot of us inherited from our parents and from our cultures. It doesn’t mean our children have to be raised in the same culture 🙏🏼 And it doesn’t mean we have to passively let porn be our kids’ sex education.
