Saiyami Kher Instagram - Happy Birthday coach!
Wish the world had more people as kind as you @bachchan 😊
Saiyami Kher Instagram - I smile like a little girl every time I get to watch live sport, and it doesn’t get better or bigger than The Gabba! Ever since I was 8 years old, I’d wake up at 5 am, make excuses to skip school, and watch India take on Australia. I’d wake up and see Australia dominate at the Gabba. Then, in 2021, we witnessed history. @ajinkyarahane and his entire team conquered fortress Gabba! Gill’s 91, the Shardul-Washy partnership, Siraj’s five-fer, and the unforgettable Pant knock — it was all magical!

Thanks to Tourism Australia, I got to live this childhood dream. I got to watch the Gabba Test with fantastic seats and even better company! Sadly, the result wasn’t what we wanted, but as a cricket fan, I was just so happy to see Bumrah on fire. This game became even more special because I got to catch up with @bhogle_harsha , @michaelvaughan , @gilly381 , @haydos359 , @isaguha @davidwarner31 and watch them work their magic on commentary. After the match, I was heartbroken to hear that @rashwin99 has retired. He’s the most intelligent cricketer, who played the game like chess! I’ll really miss him and all his variations on the field.

This could possibly also be the last Test match on this historic ground, as it’s supposed to be broken down for renovations. So, lots of memories to take back with me.
1-1 see you’ll at Boxing Day 🙌🏽

Saiyami Kher Instagram - A Boxing Day Test has always been on my bucket list, and this trip to Australia has fulfilled so many of my dreams. I had heard so much about the atmosphere of a Boxing Day game, but nothing could prepare me for experiencing it live. The reality far exceeded the hype.

Test cricket is the purest form of the game for me. There’s something special about it, even during the quiet phases when it feels like not much is happening. There’s always a battle on, the changing conditions, and the building pressure. Test cricket is a true test of patience, resilience, and the ability to adapt to the unpredictable, whether it’s the pitch, the weather, or the mental challenges players face.

When India came out to bat, the energy in the stadium felt like I was at a home game. The @thebharatarmy knows how to create an atmosphere like no other. I’ve watched countless games with them in the North Stand, but witnessing their full force by the boundary line was something else entirely.

Can’t thankyou @australia enough for this magical @mcg experience. Sitting in the MCC Reserve Box, walking to the boundary line, and stepping onto the iconic ground —it all felt like a dream. And to top it off, I even got to play with the kids at the MCG. I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I’d have the chance to roll my arm over at such a historic ground.

The atmosphere, the passion, and the history—it’s an experience I’ll never forget. This trip has given me memories for a lifetime. Until we meet again ♥️

Saiyami Kher Instagram - I remember seeing a short film called “Looking for Amitabh” on how the visually challenged perceive this icon. From describing his trademark baritone to the sound of his shoes, or the scent of his perfume. We don’t even see Mr. Bachchan, but we can experience the impact created by this superstar.

As a kid, the signature KBC tune meant it was bedtime. My parents would come back from work. And my grandparents would finish up their chores. Despite our diverse interests and age gaps, this one show brought three generations together.

If there was a contestant who gushed over Mr. Bachchan, Aiedu, my grandmom would sit preening about him. She did this until her last breath. He was after all from her part of the country. Any compliment to him obviously meant a compliment to her. He represented the heartlands of our country. He represented the fulfillment of dreams. He represented hope.

Since I began acting, there have been many ups and downs. There were so many people who brushed me off telling me I was “hopeless”. But I tried keeping my head above the water. While every rejection hurt, every rejection also made me work harder.

I've always kept everything bottled up. At the premiere of Ghoomer in Melbourne, everybody was sobbing. “Show some emotion Kher saab”, AB said as he hugged me after our standing ovation. But I stood there seemingly zen about everything. In reel life I can cry buckets, in real life, you will never know how I’m feeling.

Yesterday, as I sat at home pondering my fate, someone rang the doorbell. There was a bouquet of flowers and a handwritten note. My heart skipped a beat. Is this what I think it is? THE stamp of approval which every actor in this country dreams of?

I looked up to the skies and finally bawled, “Look what this is, Aiedu.”

Hope.

Thank you @amitabhbachchan Sir ❤️

Saiyami Kher Instagram - She has probably seen me since I was born. But my first memory of Shabana Maushi was seeing her in this pristine white Lucknowi kurta, making chai. Even in something so mundane, she exuded royalty. As I grew up and became acquainted with her work, I started understanding the formidable enigma that the world knows her to be. And I was left awestruck by her body of work.

When I decided to work in films, Dadima (Shaukat Kaifi) would help me with my diction. For the tomboy that I was, nobody believed I could become an actress. However, Dadima vociferously stood up for me. "There's an honesty in her", she'd keep telling Shabana Maushi. And being the unconditional support system that Shabana Maushi is, she would obviously broadcast the message.

The night before I shot my first scene with her in Ghoomer, I couldn't sleep. I was working with THE Shabana Azmi. I had this mental image of what she'd be like on set. How her personality could overshadow everyone. It incited so much fear and intimidation. Yet, when she did come on set, I didn't see a trace of Shabana Azmi, the star. I could only see a hungry actor who unquestioningly surrendered to her director. I understood what makes her the force that she is.

Filming in Indian summers on a blazing cricket field isn't an easy task. We would all be exhausted. But, when I'd come back to my vanity, all battered and bruised from the season ball, Shabana Maushi would set aside her own fatigue and ask about me. The love and concern that can only come from family.

As we filmed the scene in which I lose my arm, that's all I could think of. Families and what they mean. And then, almost instinctively in the scene, I hugged her and cried. I don't remember what my lines were but the only thing I could bring myself to say was, "Dadima".

I can't stop thinking of my grandparents and Dadima. They'd be so happy seeing this. And I know, somewhere in heaven, they're having a watch party. :)

Saiyami Kher Instagram - For every little girl her first hero is always her father. I was no different. He loved his college. Xaviers not only looked like Hogwarts but it felt magically listening to my father describe it. So studying at Xaviers was always a dream. 82% was never going to be enough to get me admission there. But sport & my sister came to my rescue. My state level badminton certificates attested, my sister stood in queue & lo behold my name was on the sports quota list at St. Xaviers college. My proud father drove me from Nasik for my investiture ceremony. He couldn’t contain his excitement. The moment I stepped into Xaviers I realised why. My father took me along showing me his class & the terrace, like he was showing me his childhood house. I immediately felt at home.
I didn’t realise how much this college was moulding me into what I am. I spent the 5 best years of my life having fun. Malhar security, playing 9 sports, soaking in the music theatre & in between this studying. I learnt how to dream, to live, to love to fight for what is right, to become a better person. Xavier’s was not a college it was a way of life.
When I passed out,I immediately started modelling & auditioning for films. I realised how the world outside is not Xaviers, its not such a happy place. People are not kind, life is not fair & the struggle is real. But my professors had prepared me well. My friends have been my support system everytime I have been down. So for me making my family, friends & teachers proud always remains my first goal.
A few days ago I was called to college where they felicitated me for Ghoomer. This time around I drove my father from Nasik. My professors met me with their eyes filled with pride. My father took me around again showing me same the class & the same terrace, this time it took longer, I had to share my memories as well. He watched me go up on stage, heard all the kind words of praise & couldn’t contain his excitement, with tears flowing down his cheeks. My first hero was very proud of me. I hope I can continue to make him, my family, friends & teachers feel proud. I have a long long way to go, but this part of my life, this little part, is called HAPPINESS ❤️

Saiyami Kher Instagram - HM 21.0975 Done and dusted! The @tatamummarathon is always special. Started my running journey in 2016 with the full marathon and I haven’t stopped. Just so heartwarming to see the turn out getting bigger and better every year, and so wonderful to see so many women doing the half and full! It was an easy enjoyable run for me, without stressing about time :) So proud of my super fit friends @eugeniya.belousova @taras84 @sitaramenon 🙌🏽

Saiyami Kher Instagram - I still can’t get over this series win. Don’t want discussions to move on so quickly to the Ind-Eng team or the IPL transfers. This win needs to be relished. Can we put all arguments to rest & agree that test cricket is the best!

Saiyami Kher Instagram - What I look for the most in all my role models and heroes is humility. Nag Sir is an embodiment of what a real star should be. Over 40 years in the industry and innumerable films, Nag Sir is someone who doesn’t take his stardom seriously. That’s what makes him so special. Besides being an incredible actor and entertainer, he is someone who can chat about anything under the sun. An avid reader, diver, traveller with interests varying from politics, sport, science, technology, history, cryptocurrency (to name a few).
It was such a joy to be around him while shooting for Wild Dog. I really do hope that I get to work with him again. I’ve come to realise that when you are curious about life, you don’t age. That’s possibly the secret to his youth. Happy Birthday Nag Sir!

Thankyou everyone for the love and appreciation for Wild Dog. For those who haven’t watched it please go watch it soon!

Saiyami Kher - 99.7K Likes - I smile like a little girl every time I get to watch live sport, and it doesn’t get better or bigger than The Gabba!

Saiyami Kher - 99.7K Likes - I smile like a little girl every time I get to watch live sport, and it doesn’t get better or bigger than The Gabba!

Saiyami Kher - 44.4K Likes - A Boxing Day Test has always been on my bucket list, and this trip to Australia has fulfilled so many of my dreams.

Saiyami Kher - 39.3K Likes - I remember seeing a short film called “Looking for Amitabh” on how the visually challenged perceive this icon.

He represented the fulfillment of dreams. He represented hope. Since I began acting, there have been many ups and downs. There were so many people who brushed me off telling me I was “hopeless”. But I tried keeping my head above the water. While every rejection hurt, every rejection also made me work harder. I’ve always kept everything bottled up. I looked up to the skies and finally bawled, “Look what this is, Aiedu.” Hope. Thank you @amitabhbachchan Sir ❤️

Saiyami Kher - 39.3K Likes - I remember seeing a short film called “Looking for Amitabh” on how the visually challenged perceive this icon.

Saiyami Kher - 29.8K Likes - She has probably seen me since I was born.

Saiyami Kher - 29.2K Likes - For every little girl her first hero is always her father.

Saiyami Kher - 27.5K Likes - HM 21.0975 Done and dusted!

Keep running and see you’ll at the start line next year!

Saiyami Kher - 26.4K Likes - I still can’t get over this series win. Don’t want discussions to move on so quickly to the Ind-Eng team or the IPL transfers. This win needs to be relished. Can we put all arguments to rest & agree that test cricket is the best!

Saiyami Kher - 26.1K Likes - What I look for the most in all my role models and heroes is humility.
