To me it’s real simple. If a Native American name is a slur like the Washington Redskins or the Atlanta Braves tomahawk chop… change it. If the name honors the heritage of a local Indian tribe like Chief Tackapausha and the Massapequa Indians… the name should remain. If you’re going to take away the name of the mascot that we have honored, respected, cherish and celebrated for generations then you might as well take the name Massapequa off the high school altogether. In fact… you should remove the name Massapequa from the town altogether. Allegany Cattaraugus Chautauqua Cayuga Iroquois Seneca Oneida Onondaga Poospatuck Mohawk Shinnecock Skaneateles Tonawanda Tuscarora And many, many more… gone forever!! Fight it. Tim Keller was one of the kindest, most gentle and most well informed people I have ever known. Thanks to Chynna… I have listened to many of his sermons more than once. He was also one of the most inspiring and motivating men I have ever known. We have lost a great one today. He has gone home. Sending love, strength and prayers to his family. I will always appreciated and dearly miss the almost professorial way he preached and taught all of us. I will also miss his calming and reassuring voice and the way he mentored me and so many others… especially on faith, life, marriage and other important, complex issues. He will be dearly missed. Love you Tim and thank you.

It looked pretty good but I said… “What about my beard stubble.” She proceeded to pick up the pepper grinder and added my pepper beard. It turned out pretty darn good and made us both laugh so hard… I was wheezing. 🤣

(More on that in the best few days) The Taormina Film Festival is one of the worlds most important. It has been attended by legends like Marlene Dietrich, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, and Richard Burton. In recent years stars like Tom Cruise, Robert De Niro, Colin Firth, Monica Bellucci, John Malkovich and Richard Gere have also attended. I was blessed with the opportunity to attend a very special opening night concert at the 3000 year old Teatro antico di Taormina… the ancient Greek theatre built in the 3rd century BC. The concert ‘Pavarotti Forever’ honored the greatest tenor the world has ever known… Luciano Pavarotti. At this concert I blessed and blown way to see a true living legend perform… Plácido Domingo. The tribute to Pavarotti also included breathtaking performances by Aida Garifullina, Vittorio Grigolo, Marcelo Alvarez, Andrea Griminelli and Mario Biondi. Truly a night to remember!! So lucky to be in this business!! More on our premise later this week.
