How does one begin the impossible… Happy Birthday to my beautiful husband, Christophe. My love, my joy, my soulmate, my confidante, my friend, my everything. Chris passed away on May 14th of this year. We who loved him, and there are many, many of us, are heartbroken and still in shock. Chris always promised that we would grow old together. Well, that I would grow older and he would grow old. He talked about his future grandchildren and sometimes nagged the boys to hurry up and give him a grandson or granddaughter. I can safely say Chris passed at the peak of his happiness, and ours. He was so proud of his sons, Thomas and Patrick, whom he loved fiercely and unconditionally from the beginning. And equally proud of his nephews, Frankie and Jonathan. He cherished his mother, Sylvie, and grandmother, Renee, whom he’d call every single morning. My darling, my sweetheart, I can’t believe you would skip out on your birthday celebration – you were so into your birthdays! We celebrated your 50th in the summer of 2021 with a big party and now I celebrate alone. Yet not alone. We celebrate without you here. We celebrate that you existed, that you were born, that you lived, that we were so privileged to walk this life with you, that you showed us how to be loved and cherished and how to love and cherish and return. You were a man amongst men with a child’s enthusiasm. For new things, new hats, new boots, new trucks, new zero turn mowers. New Italian loafers. New places. New ways of living. And now, you’re gone. And so is the dream that we were building together. You had the vision, honey, and I went along for the ride and oh, what a ride it was. I love you Chris, I love you now and forever and I know that one day we’ll see each other again and I look forward to that day if only so I can berate you for leaving me way too soon. I wasn’t ready to say goodbye; I’ll never be ready. You never know how many tears you have until you love so greatly. Love, Wifey. John 15:11 “These things have I spoken until you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”
I don’t call it being late for National Sons Day – I call it being a year early. 👏🏼👏🏼Besides – every day is National Sons Day in my house! 🎉 (I sure do miss feeding these guys every day…). ❤️😍

Back in NYC with my boys; if there were hug police, I’d be in jail. 🤗🤗🤗. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Can you guess what I’m thankful for? 😍❤️🙏🏼

Enjoy these pics of Thomas and his supporting cast before he finds out and I have to take them down. Sorry, T! Love you! (We’d just finished what should’ve been an hour drive into NYC that turned out to be a close to three-hour drive…and we’re still smiling! And my hair’s in my plate! And I may’ve had a Cosmo or two because the 90s ruled! Anyway, we found an amazing restaurant at 9:00 on a Saturday night in the Village that seated us quickly and our server was one of those magnificent throwback professionals – and Chris’s Old Fashioned was perfect!) We were in great hands and great spirits – in more ways than one. 🍸🥃❤️ And someday I’ll remember the name of the restaurant – but I can’t guarantee it wasn’t just a wonderful illusion.

Earlier in the World Cup Final…now, @froyourmind is vacuuming and afterwards, he’ll take a long walk with the dogs. 🌎🏆🇫🇷🇦🇷(Tell Messi I said congrats! 😜)
I’ll be off Instagram for the month of May to join in @cotcfranklin’s Digital Detox. (Yes, I’m a day late – I was trying to decide if Wordle is a “distraction” or “utility”. 🤔🧐) If anyone needs to reach me to say hi or tell me I’m dumb and old (this is social media, after all) – you’ll have to do it the old-fashioned way – by pigeon. Please try not to have any birthdays, weddings, births, deaths(!), photogenic meals or puppies for the next 30 (29 1/2) days. Love you! ❤️🙏🏼PS., please enjoy my stack of books from the last month or so. Currently reading Felicia Wu Song’s Restless Devices (on a…device – my Kindle 😛) – she talks about mono-tasking – doing one thing at a time – can you imagine? 📚😘
Our first Christmas in Tennessee. Highly recommend. 5/5 stars. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and photogenic. The guests were also photogenic and always…always hungry. One of the hosts spent most of her time in the kitchen, which she loves. 😍 Our Christmas movies this year: Die Hard and Tropic Thunder. Because we like to keep it traditional. Hope your Christmas and holidays were as warm and fuzzy as ours and may your refrigerator and pantry be fully stocked this 2023. ❤️🎉🙏🏼😋🎄🥳
I *like* Jane Austen and I *enjoy* Henry James…but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Edith Wharton and can’t believe you’ve kept her from me all these years. Yes, you – who never sat me down, stuck a glass of wine in my hand and “House of Mirth” in the other and said – “READ NOW.” ❤️📚💃🏼💍
Happiest Birthday to the boy who made me a mama! @thomas.grazer, you’ve been a gift and a totally pleasure from day one! You’re the best son a mother could have – (I mean, Patrick is, too – but it’s your birthday! 😜) I have so much admiration for you, not only as a son but as a human being. We love you to the moon and back – which we will someday prove if Elon can get us there 😜. Make it a great day and make the most of it – as you always do! (PS I know you don’t like too much attention – but you were an adorable baby!😍🥰😘)

Losing someone is never easy. But losing those who bring light, love and courage into this world is even harder. I have met many a man. Chris was a warrior. He loved fiercely He was extremely creative. He’s eye was trained…sharp and eclectic. His fashion…unmatched. But his greatest characteristic was his joy. He brought joy into the room. Chris was in love with his bride @gigilevangie …and for his savior, Jesus. Chris was born in France. Although he came to this country and fell madly in love with the concept of freedom. He was patriotic and passionate about unifying people regardless of color or creed. He was a rebel and a gentleman. Chris and I just met a year ago and quickly became friends. He would invite me over to watch the World Cup with him. …even though he bet me France would beat Argentina 3-1. I will miss your laugh and watching you pour love on others. I know this…the soul never dies. We simply return to what we are. Chris Elise, you were and always will be…love. Rest well, Tommy 🙏🏼🌊❤️🐸
