👑 70 Glorious years. Was lucky enough to watch the flypast in St James, on the roof of @christiesinc , where my Dad worked for 42 years. The plan was to take the boys to The Mall but it was closed when it got too full; so many people wanting to celebrate with The Queen. The atmosphere on the streets was amazing #platinumjubilee
Obviously this won’t repair the damage done or get back the two weeks lost to fending off the abuse, and forcing the Sunday Times to admit they’d made up things to create controversy and clicks. Nor can I do much about the other papers or the stuff on TV or Radio, not to mention the abuse on social media. You can get apologies for lies but there’s nothing to be done about the twisted stuff, the stuff which with a tweak here or there entirely changes the meaning of what you said & feel. Anyone who think it’s just tomorrow’s chip paper, or the price you pay for fame is incredibly naive. I have come out of this experience a far less trusting person. But I still believe that if you find the right person to talk to about today’s housing issues, which are going to create such problems for the future if we don’t address them, it might be possible to change things. Thank you to all the people who did put lovely comments on my Instagram, it was very much appreciated. 😘

It’s going to be a long road, sorting out the lies of the Sunday Times & Times is far from easy, they have far deeper pockets than I do. But I’m really grateful to all the people who have sent kind & supportive messages. Those who seek to portray me as a compassion free zone have an agenda, and huge prejudices, but in the end our work, the work of all the house hunters, contributors & crew that have tried so hard to tell the real story of finding a home in the UK over the last 22 years will win through. Today I did something I have wanted to do for ages, I got to visit @birchtreecafeeaston1, I was given a tour by my beloved Godson Cosmo, who is a key staff member and I met some of the brilliant team members and volunteers. I see so many cafes and restaurants around the UK and Birch Tree really stands out. ❤️ #community #downsyndrome #Homemade #local #teamwork
