Through their work, LAND assesses new ways of bringing the arts from the periphery of learning to the core of learning, thinking of how art can become a pedagogical pursuit for care and creativity that can open up new ways of thinking and create discourse relevant to the learners, educators, institutions/communities it is placed in. Our latest exhibition on view, ‘In the wall, a window’, curated by LAND, plays with the concept of windows–the clear demarcations of inside and outside traced by this device and how it is challenged. With the dynamism of the artists, this exhibition explores nuances of self and identity by engaging with the window(s) they—and we all—continuously keep opening and shutting as individuals in the making. It is a rumination on journeys, passages, and, through them, stillness. Through the exhibited artworks, the artists wish to delve into this poetry of being, asking: when a window opens, what closes? Or, when a window closes, what opens? Aligning with their pedagogical approach to curation, this exhibition brings together artists whose work facilitate very specific conversations, that in the process of unpacking becomes a learning tool in itself, equipping the audience with new lenses to perceive and derive multiple dialogues from art. Lisa Ray Instagram – Sublime views of the Himalayas from #sitarahimalaya and one from a day trip to Lahaul. I know I’m obsessed and can easily spend hours merging with the mountains’ many moods.

I’m sure there’s a few of you out there who similarly hear your soul sing gazing at these glorious peaks.
