This bag is made from thousands and plastic bags that could have been thrown in the ocean but instead were collected, cleaned and made into this beautiful bag using the traditional charkha and handloom by a community of tribal women and artisans. Radhika Apte Instagram – It’s been two years since I signed on @theriopads as their brand ambassador, and as I look back today, I feel deeply proud of the work we have done together. šŸ™šŸ¼ In 2020, we shot our first ad in which we ‘dared’ to show period blood as redšŸ©ø,instead of the usual science lab blue.What followed was great outrage! But RIO stuck through, and soon we became the FIRST Indian brand to show period blood AS IT LOOKS on national TVā€”a precedent, that I am pleased to note, has been followed by many other brands. āœØ From their inception as a brand focused on heavy flow, RIO has been one that has focused on speaking truth to power. We have together highlighted how painful, how depleting periods can be; and encouraged women to speak up and ask for #BetterPeriods.
