An uncomfortable watch at times but highly revealing. Check out my new documentary tonight on BBC2. 👀
Probably one of the most uncomfortable and disturbing documentaries I’ve made to date. BLACKFACE, this coming Thursday on BBC2. As a kid I knew something about this tradition was off and I just couldn’t understand how or why it was on the television. In this documentary i examine its origins and find out why, as a child, I found it so wrong. Viewer discretion is advised. 👀
Happy Windrush75! Shout out those brave souls reaching out to the other side of the ocean in search of their futures. Men and women from across the West Indies taking their first steps on UK soil! Absolute LEGENDS!!
David Harewood OBE is an extraordinary actor and an extraordinary man.
We had the most fascinating conversation about his life, his childhood, his psychotic episode, and his brilliant career. With it come insights about ourselves and our history.
If you want to hear how someone can change, change for the better, this is the episode to listen to.

Chillin after a days graft and a bit of grub. On the road again!🎶
Morning! Off travelling again! Mystery location so watch this space! 👀
Day out! 😎#Wimbledon
So many comments on the documentary, seems most people found it hugely informative and educational, which is exactly what was intended. Shocking and and uncomfortable at times but worth while to reveal the history behind this hugely popular ‘art form’.
The research Emily found is so important.
We may know that people of colour have higher rates of mental illness – but what most of us don’t know is that it is context dependent. It is nothing to do with their race, it’s because they are a minority. Their biology is responding to the environment they are in, the disempowerment they experience. It isn’t a choice.
This podcast is a must listen if you want to understand more, David is truly fascinating. And inspiring.
