Congratulations to David Harewood (@davidharewood) who has been announced as the new president of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (@royalacademyofdramaticart) and Cynthia Erivo (@cynthiaerivo) who has been appointed vice president. Both are RADA alumni and will be assuming their positions immediately.
As RADA’s honorary president and vice president, they will be on call to support the school, faculty, students and alumni by contributing, advocating and raising awareness.
Harewood said: “As a former student at RADA and somebody who has enjoyed both the highs and experienced the lows of this industry, I feel I am ideally placed to help these young people navigate the sometimes difficult path from students to professionals, by bringing all the knowledge and experience I’ve learnt over a 30 year career.”
Erivo added: “I have been lucky enough to spend some time with the students at RADA, teaching and the lessons have been enlightening, heartwarming and heartbreaking, all at once. I’m excited to be able to spend more time with them, helping them along their path, to their careers in the outside world. My hope is that I can play a valuable role in strengthening the new talent of tomorrow.”

A fantastic evening at our summer dinner last night with our brilliant supporters @jmfinnwealth 🤝🥂 Amazing to have legends @davidharewood @cjrjordan @ebbaqureshi @roland.butcher @georgieheath27 and @rickyellcock all in the building supporting Bat For a Chance telling some brilliant stories ! An evening filled with brilliant conversations and incredible energy. Raising lots of money for our work around the world and building brilliant relationships. Most importantly highlighting the phenomenal work being done by the @barbadosroyalsgirlscricketclub which were are delighted to be funding and helped launch last year.
