Lucas Bravo Instagram – A few months ago, thanks to the pressure of activists and scientists, France switched its position to advocate for a full ban on deep sea mining. It’s now leading the group of champion countries that push to prevent its start in international waters. Meanwhile, Norway, who leads the High Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy next to France, is pushing to fast-track the start of the industry both in International and national waters. The decision that the Norwegian government took to start mining the deep sea in Arctic waters would be impacting us all. We cannot accept any further destruction of natural ecosystems with such important climate benefits in 2023. @look_down_action @wwfnorge & @oceanopportunitylab sailed to Arendal aboard the @seilskipetchristianradich to strongly urge the Norwegian Parliament to say no to opening the deep sea to mining. #look_down_action #defendthedeep
