Aishwarya Sakhuja Instagram – While I was running around like a headless chicken my biggest saviour turned out to be @bluecirclediabetesfoundation. A support group of and for diabetics who were available for allllllll my confusions
I also went back to eating the way my grandparents ate. From eating only seasonal fruits and vegetables to avoiding too many late nights…
Making my family understand about my needs as a diabetic was the best thing I could do to ease my journey. Not only do they understand my nutritional needs now but they also understand the complications that can arise if they are not met with.
Everytime I visited an endocrinologist they werent resorting to guesswork. They knew exactly how much dose of insulin would be needed by my body as they had an hourly log of all my readings and the food I ate for a month. So every time you have your doctor’s appointment start maintaining a log that will give them a better idea about your body’s reaction to various foods.
