Charlotte Nicdao Instagram – My heart is broken. In the last few days since my Lola’s passing, the words we’ve tried to mash together to describe her have never felt like enough. I’ve found myself watching videos of her over and over, crying, but also remembering how utterly hilarious she always was – even now, she’s still making me laugh. I can’t sum her up in an Instagram post. But I can tell you about the discovery I made over the last few days. My Dad, the strongest leader even through his grief, has been an uncanny reflection of her humour – continuing to make us all laugh no matter how heavy we feel. Even as we mourn, my whole family has found moments to joke and do our best Lola impressions. I’ve realised that my sense of humour, my drive to make all of you laugh, comes directly from my Lola. I’m grateful to her for so many things, and maybe one day I’ll find the words to describe them all. But for today this is what I’m holding on to.
