Good afternoon and welcome to my lockdown
In the last few years I’ve tried to really educate myself in how destructive disposable fashion is, not just in terms of waste, but also production practices. These days I really try my best to only buy vintage and second hand pieces, and support sustainable labels. I’m not perfect! And every so often I’ll be seduced by a less ethical look, but I think all we can do is try our best to be responsible, and that’s my main goal. It’s the the season finale of @mythicquest and I’m nostalgic for the incredible fun we had making this season of TV for you. There’s no acting required for the face I’m making at @robmcelhenney here – I’m beyond grateful he believed in me enough to give me this job, then was a dream scene partner, and on top of it all has been such a generous mentor. I’m so proud of this season of Mythic Quest, and I hope you guys love this last episode as much as I do! ❤️
My heart is broken. In the last few days since my Lola’s passing, the words we’ve tried to mash together to describe her have never felt like enough. I’ve found myself watching videos of her over and over, crying, but also remembering how utterly hilarious she always was – even now, she’s still making me laugh. I can’t sum her up in an Instagram post. But I can tell you about the discovery I made over the last few days. My Dad, the strongest leader even through his grief, has been an uncanny reflection of her humour – continuing to make us all laugh no matter how heavy we feel. Even as we mourn, my whole family has found moments to joke and do our best Lola impressions. I’ve realised that my sense of humour, my drive to make all of you laugh, comes directly from my Lola. I’m grateful to her for so many things, and maybe one day I’ll find the words to describe them all. But for today this is what I’m holding on to. I hope you can find some giggles in this video the way that I have.

BIG EXCITING NEWS! In June last year I sat down with one of my heroes, the author of my absolute FAVOURITE childhood book: Elizabeth Honey. She very kindly granted me a meeting so I could pitch to her the vision I had for a feature film adaptation of her Australian classic: 45 47 Stella Street (and everything that happened). This book means more to me than I can explain. In the words of another of my heroes, Nora Ephron, “When you read a book as a child, it becomes a part of your identity in a way that no other reading in your whole life does.” If you were also shaped by this story, you’ll be delighted to know that Elizabeth is just as wonderful and witty as you’d hope your favourite childhood author might be. I hope you’ll also be delighted to know that our visions for a film adaptation aligned and we are now in the early stages of developing STELLA ST THE MOVIE! I’m honoured that the incredibly talented @vidyarrrr and @baldwinalistair have come on board to write the film, and continue to pinch myself that I’m producing this dream project with my best friend Bron through our company @toughcrowd.pictures Thank you to @screenaustralia for being so supportive in these first stages of development. It’s very early days, but as Henni says: Stay tuned. Beam in. You ain’t heard nothin’ yet. 🏡
