It would have been her 93rd. A forever memory meeting this woman.. My wise wonderful mum took me to see her in her Nicholas Building studio when I was a kid, 9 or 10. We chatted. I told her I wanted to be an artist. I was from a nothing special socio economic background, a snaggle toothed girl from a tiny town nowhere near a cultural centre. She said ‘you can do it’. I believed her.
