Gul Panag Instagram – Tribe : On homecoming and belonging , a book by Sebastian Junger left a deep mark on me when I read it a few years ago. It explores tribal concepts of loyalty, belonging and human quest for meaning.
However, it’s these 10 days that made me experience all these terms in a manner I haven’t in a long time. I felt like I really belonged to this tribe of women, seeking meaning, seeking to push their limits. The oneness I’ve felt with this tribe of women and members of this expedition is overwhelming. And I felt like I belonged. And I feel like it made me the best version of myself during the expedition. Now to carry that feeling forward is a task!
Even thoug I’ve pursued adventure and drives like this before, I was out of my comfort zone in many ways. And that’s what made it special.
It was like a refresher. IYKYK.
Of all what learns in a boarding school.
Cannot wait to do this again @mahindraadventure !

P.S. Sebastian started research on our tribal roots and the impact of breaking away from tribal structures, on our mental health when researching PTSD in veterans. It’s a great book. GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS | Posted on 24/Aug/2023 11:05:19
