Lately I’ve been focusing on cultivating not only quality time with my loved ones, but also quantity time. There is magic in spending longer stretches of time together where we can speckle in moments of deep engagement with other moments of light engagement.
Spending a week of time with my brother @lim_erik has taught me priceless learnings about him:
* Erik’s remote year friends described him as the kitchen whisk. He’s there to mix everyone together, and to create momentum/movement.
* Erik is just as addicted to coffee as I am
* He is constantly offering to organize social gatherings, and to leading on splitting the bill at dinner
* Erik thinks its okay as designated DJ to skip to another song before the previous song is over (!!!)
* Erik knows how to lip synch Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles”

Yesterday the @ickqfilm crew and I traveled two hours from Kigali to the Muhanga district to visit the Rwanda School of Creative Arts and Music @rsamnyundomusic.
This school was created by award winning Rwandan artist @mightypopo to support the professional development of live musicians from all over the country of Rwanda. It’s awe inspiring to see Popo bring power and joy thru music to a country that is rebuilding with determination. This Thursday I’ll be performing with their choir at the closing ceremony in the main auditorium of the @women_deliver conference.
