*mental health update* Hey, gentle rebels. Jumping on here to send some love as we enter the holiday season filled with expectations. The only expectation I have for you is to not hold yourself to any unrealistic expectations. Take all the breaths you need, and go gentle on yourselves.
I’ve been more quiet on socials lately as I’ve been navigating more urgent mental health challenges. After noticing in increase in dark thoughts and depressive behaviors, I’ve been switching medications with the help of doctors, and the support of my incredible community. I’m feeling hopeful that after the adjustment period, I’ll be able to engage here and share more.
For now, remember there is a network of weirdos just like you navigating the holidays, too. This weirdo sends you so much love.

Over the last couple of years I have been working with @michellewustyle to style my appearances and performances. Having a history of eating disorder and a complex relationship with body image, I have a history of dreading dressing up for these events. What has been delightful is that I have continued to feel comfortable and dignified, as Michelle and I believe that feeling good in clothes is not about what sizes you fit into, but instead about choosing the clothes that are the right size for YOU (even for those who fluctuate like me! In fact, I’ve felt the most powerful and beautiful at some of my heavier phases!).
and ps. its not only ok, but freaking liberating and fun to repeat outfits!

@uscannenberg released research earlier this year. Here’s some of what they found:
In 2022, women make up 30% of artists on the Billboard Hot 100 Year-End Chart. Across an 11-year span and 1,100 songs, the overall percentage of female artists was 22.3%— a ratio of 3.5 male artists to every 1 female artist.
In 2022, only 12.8% of the songwriters evaluated from the past 11 years were women— a ratio of 6.8 men to every 1 woman songwriter.
More than half of songs across 11 years did not credit a woman songwriter. In contrast, less than 1 percent of all songs were missing male songwriters.
Additionally, the 12 male songwriters who had the most credits across the sample were collectively responsible for crafting nearly 25% of the 1,100 song sample.
**This is why writing camps like the one I joined last week are so important. It’s more than just crediting a woman on a song — it’s about nurturing talent and creating spaces where women can claim meaningful roles. Thank you @bmg_us for having me.
