Rachel Atherton Instagram – 🖤 my heart says Yes but my body says No 😂 Saw the doc the other day after a scan on the shoulder & it wasn’t looking great in there 😮‍💨 poor shoulders have taken a lifetime of abuse & this left side is the side I had the Axillary nerve graft on after getting hit by the car in 2008, so it’s delicate anyway! 🚗 I wanted to do ANDORRA World Cup, but after the shoulder injury at Fort William it’s not feeling that great still , & I wasn’t at full strength anyway so to keep racing with an injury would just be frustrating & stupid. I’m so gutted, I wanted to keep racing whilst I’d made some progress training & felt the passion, but now the injuries, old & new , seem so stacked up & I don’t really know how to proceed!!
