I feel like our dogs take on a much larger emotional role in our lives than we care to acknowledge. Our pets greet us with affection and brimming happiness whenever they see us. They are joyous playing the silliest of games…. they respect us, love us. They’re loyal. They are happy with the most simple routines and truly enjoy living in the moment . Their love is unconditional and their needs are basic. 

As humans there are many of us who truly try our best to care for our pets, but there are also so many of us who seek their love when we need it and don’t really think about what we need to give them. 

Kong’s company is therapeutic in a way that I cannot explain. It’s been a very long time since I had my full attention on a walk or a ball being thrown. I haven’t had reason to run around the house like a crazy person or jump onto couches… I also hadn’t enjoyed the swing in our house so much until Kong… I’ve learned a lot about myself from Kong’s quiet presence…. And I hope that I’m able to continue to grow this ability to introspect from his simple ways…. 

Going to miss my family. It is the hardest part of leaving on tour. 

(Btw, the rest of my family doesn’t like to be on social media. Kong is the only one who doesn’t really know)
