Tatiana Dumitru Instagram – βYou can do π’π―πΊπ΅π©πͺπ―π¨ but not π¦π·π¦π³πΊπ΅π©πͺπ―π¨β.
This is a mantra I constantly say to myself. Running a business is stressful, and you can’t do it all. It’s exhausting in so many ways, and this exhaustion can lead to burnout or even worse, a loss of entrepreneurial passion.
It’s difficult to trust other people with your business, but delegating tasks is critical in avoiding burnout. I remember when I first started and I thought I could do it all. I wanted to do everything because, at the time, it seemed βeasierβ and more cost-effective. I knew what needed to be done, and I was worried about finding the right people – so, instead, I overworked myself.
Once I started building my team, things changed. Now, I focus more on working π°π― my agency, not only πͺπ― my agency. I’d have never had the energy or the resources to work with major companies like Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, and The Motley Fool if I kept trying to be a βone-woman show.β
In hiring other people to help me with administrative and executional tasks, I’ve been able to slide into my ‘π‘π°π―π¦ π°π§ ππ¦π―πͺπΆπ΄’ where I capitalize on my natural abilities and focus on the things Iβm good at. In particular, I enjoy (and am skilled at!) creating brand names for companies of all sizesβ¦and now, I have the time and energy to concentrate on that element of my business. Then, of course, there are other ways to prevent burnout, like setting boundaries, learning how to say βno,β taking breaks, going outside daily, and prioritizing self-care. And once in a while, I encourage you to get on a βvery tight schedule of not getting anything done!β (Glass of wine optional π)
How do you avoid burnout? What do you do to disconnect from work?
