Bertie Gregory Instagram – Wild dogs are seriously fast. They can run at speeds of more than 40mph. The pack we were following loved hunting warthogs. To our amazement, in a 100m sprint the warthogs were faster than the dogs! Any further and the dogs’ stamina was far superior. Once spotted, the warthog would dash to the nearest burrow. The race was simple, could the warthog get to a burrow within 100m? If not, could they find one before the dogs caught up?
