Bryce Dessner Instagram – Very excited about the two new singles ‘Alphabet City’ and ‘Space Invader’ we released today. These are two of my favorite @thenational songs ever and there are more to come :) The beautiful videos for both songs were made by @minatindle who never ceases to amaze me with her creativity and talent.
Bryce Dessner Instagram – @thenational’s new single Eucalyptus is out now from our new album First Two Pages of Frankenstein, out April 28th. I wrote the music for Eucalyptus deep in the pandemic sent it to Matt and then forgot about it. A few years later backstage at one of the last shows of our tour last summer Matt said he had a song he’d been working on to that music but no demo. So we worked it out on stage during soundcheck and played it and recorded it that night @capitoltheatre in Port Chester, NY. The album version is based on that first live recording and a few things we added in the studio after.
