Jim Baird Instagram – Just passing through Smithers, BC right now on our overlanding adventure and will head up the long and lonely Cassiar Hwy today. Two nights ago, we made camp along the mighty Fraser River with wild fire smoke obstructing views of the surrounding scenery. It rained heavily all night long that night and when we awoke, the forest fire smoke had cleared, revealing dramatic snow-capped mountains all around us. We continued through Prince George and made camp off a forest access road on a small lake last tight. We have what seems like it’ll be an epic little spot planned for camping tonight with potentially an interesting road to negotiate to get there. The mountains are starting to get more dramatic again now and most of the wildfire smoke has cleared.
