We did it! Yesterday evening we arrived in Telegraph Creek, BC to complete our 5000 km overland journey from our home in Magnetawan, Ontario. The final 150kms on the Telegraph Creek road was both jaw-droppingly spectacular and hair raising with 20% inclines that saw sheer cliffs lining the edge of the mountain road in many places. But before reaching the Telegraph Creek rd., we enjoyed an amazing side adventure off the Cassiar on hwy 37A where we checked out Bear Glacier. We’re now in the process of switching from an overlanding trip to a canoe trip and with any luck, we’ll begin paddling the Lower Stikine River today!

It was late in the night last night when we find a place to camp near Jasper National Park and spend some time this morning enjoying our campsite and the. hiking into Maligne Canyon which was just stunningly beautiful despite the multiple people on the trail this Monday of the Labour Day long weekend. We also saw a heard of Big Horn Sheep which was really cool. A lot of the best views here are obscured by forest fire smoke that has blown in from a ways away, on top of the generally overcast day, but Jasper has not disappointed. Now we begin the remote leg of our journey and are just making sure we have all the final things we’ll need to be self-sufficient as we head north to the Cassiar Hwy and Telegraph Creek Rd.
