Jim Baird Instagram – This is Day 3 of my family’s cross Canada Overlanding adventure to Northern B.C. and we are just passing though Thunder Bay, Ontario after camping at Sleeping Giant last night. We’re driving our @chevroletcanada Silverado ZR2 and hauling our Expedition 2.0 off-road tear-drop by @offgridtrailers for our accommodations. I’m happy to report that the kids are doing great, and we’ve enjoyed several sights along Lake Superior’s beautiful north shore. That being said, we have also dealt with a couple hiccups – most notably, our dog North had a run-in with a skunk last night which resulted in me spending the entire morning scrubbing him in the lake with tomato sauce and toothpaste! But before leaving on this month-long adventure, we harvested a bunch of the corn, beans and squash from our three-sisters garden and have been enjoying delicious meals of ample corn on the cob and moose steaks each night. (Hudson doesn’t seem to want to wait for the corn to be cooked and hammered a whole cob and a half raw yesterday). We’re all looking forward to see what adventures lie ahead, particularly the 10-day canoe trip into Alaska down the Stikine River which we’ll reach after making our way down the rugged Telegraph Creek road.
