Raining for a few weeks straight and now flooding in New York. Gonna be sunny in the 80s next week. Brooklyn got 7 1/2 inches of rain in one day. 2 1/2 inches of rain in one hour. The most rain in Brooklyn in a single day in over 60 years. The last time was during a HURRICANE !!! Hurricane Donna in 1960. They say “Only in New York“ but even for New Yorkers… this is getting a bit out of hand.

I met Paul Reubens when Chynna was doing Dancing With The Stars years ago. He was there to support David Arquette who was part of the fabulous DWTS Season 13 cast that also included: Hope Solo Ricki Lake Elisabetta Canalis Rob Kardashian Kristin Cavallari Nancy Grace Ron Artest Carson Kressley Chaz Bono J.R. Martinez We became friends. I had the privilege of spending some time with him on numerous occasions. I received this, as did many of his other friends, for my birthday a few years back. Let me tell you… one of the most kind, cool, original, talented and loving people I have ever known. Rest easy Pee-wee. ♥️
#ThrowbackThursdsy From the archives. 32 years in the making. Chynna & Billy… Chilly. ♥️
Some reflections on 9/11. 🇺🇸
William “Billy” Friedkin has died. He directed several of my favorite films including The Exorcist, The French Connection, To Live and Die in LA, Twelve Angry Men and others. He was married to one of my favorite people in Hollywood… former Paramount Chairwoman Sherry Lansing. To this day… The Exorcist is unequivocally the scariest film I’ve ever seen. A complete masterpiece. Terrifying if you grew up Catholic and you were an altar boy as I was. In the 80s, I worked on Capitol Hill… living in Georgetown literally a block from the famed staircase featured in The Exorcist. At one point in his career, Billy directed a remake of Twelve Angry Men for Showtime. It was so incredible that Showtime decided that they wanted to produce a series of classic remakes. Next in that series was scheduled to be Elmer Gantry with Friedkin directing and yours truly in the title role. We developed it for several months but due to the budgetary challenges of trying to shoot a period piece set in the early 20th century… we were never able to pull it off. Billy Friedkin was a complex, dynamic, super interesting man. Extremely bright, an amazingly gifted artist and a bit of a madman all rolled into one. All three required if you’re going to make films as brilliant as The Exorcist, The French Connection, To Live and Die in LA and Twelve Angry Men. I was so excited to work with him. It never worked out. I regret that the opportunity never presented itself again. Rest in peace Billy Friedkin. My condolences to Sherry and the entire Friedkin family.

Watching Cillian Murphy in Oppenheimer reminded me a bit of my old pal Peter Weller. Not just the hat… screen presence, intensity… those icy electric blue eyes.
#HollywoodMoments: Neil Young at The Roxy Crazy Horse and crazy circles. I finally got to see one of my favorite singer songwriters Neil Young at the 50th anniversary of the legendary venue… The Roxy on the Sunset Strip. There are so many epic, historic intertwining connections to this event: 1. Neil Young and Crazy Horse played at the 50th anniversary of the Roxy to benefit the Bridge School and The Painted Turtle. They also played under the name Neil Young and the Santa Monica Flyers at the opening of The Roxy 50 years ago in September 1973. 2. The owner of the Roxy… legendary record, producer Lou Adler and his lovely wife Page were, of course, there. 3. Neil Young is married to actor Daryl Hannah and Lou Adler is married to Daryl’s sister Page Hannah. 4. Lou Adler produced The Mama’s and the Papa’s, Jan and Dean, Carole King’s Tapestry, Barry McGuire, The Rocky Horror Picture Show and directed Cheech and Chong’s Up In Smoke to name a few. 5. Lou also produced The Monterey Pop Festival with Chynna’s parents John and Michelle Phillips… featuring The Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead, Janice Joplin, Otis Redding, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, The Steve Miller Band, Simon and Garfunkel, The Mama’s and the Papa’s… and many others. 6. Lou is Chynna’s Godfather. ♥️ 7. Chynna and I went to the show with Mama Michelle. We had the honor of sitting with Dean Torrence from Jan and Dean and we also ran into our friends Rob Lowe and his wife Sheryl Berkoff. Check out the photo of Chynna and Rob from back in the day!!
